59th Annual Tournament

Golf Professional and Fellow Golfers,

The 59th Bermuda Goodwill is fast approaching and despite the negative impact the economy is playing in our lives, we are so grateful to again welcome you to Bermuda to participate in one of the greatest Pro-Ams in our history.

The past two years have been extremely difficult with mounting pressure to ensure we continue to deliver a quality event with less resources. Regardless of this pressure, Alex and I personally look forward to seeing all of our friends and catching up on each other’s lives. Each year, we especially enjoy the stories shared by so many. After all, is this not what the Goodwill is about? It certainly is to us. In fact, it is what motivates us every year, reminding us of what is especially important in life and that of course is our family and friends.

While most events are folding or cutting back, we are looking at ways to re-allocatae our funds, as we are determined to preserve the rich history and comraderie that is the Goodwill. We have never been known to shy away from attempting something new, so with that in mind, we are reverting back to something old and will replace the lunches with a mid-week cocktail reception. The committee is also working with various restaurants and retail stores to provide discounts or special offers to our participants and their families any time during the Goodwill week. This will be part of our Goodwill Trail and will include attractions for the families to enjoy.

Additionally we are reorganising the Professional purse with payouts to the top five (5) professionals, in Jr. Division and top three (3) professioals in the Senior and Female Divisions. The balance of the allocated money will be split evenly throughout the remainder of the field. This will guarantee that every Professional will receive a little something for their efforts.

Equally, we know that we are in difficult times. We are therefore offering all Clubs a discount of $200 off of the entry fee for every extra team they bring to the event. (Limited to 5 additional teams.)

We truly value your patronage and enjoy seeing everyone each year. Let’s continue to make this year a new and exciting event to look forward to.
